I am very fortunate to teach in a school that has an abundance of technology at my disposal. In my classroom we use responders, an interactive whiteboard, a document camera and computers. The principal has recently ordered a lazer printer for each classroom, Mimeos for each class (new type of interactive whiteboard that doesn't require a stand alone board), responders and document cameras for classrooms that do not currently have access to one. I know that all classrooms are not as lucky! I would like to know what technology is available to other classrooms and how it is used. I am looking forward to hearing from all of my classmates.

You are an amazing teacher, in an amazing school, run by even a more amazing principal. You do a great job of integrating technology into your teaching. I loved the PBL you did last year!
ReplyDeleteI use my document camera, projector, and laptop everyday! I use powerpoints with my students. I had a smartboard but hated it, so I gave it to another teacher. Everytime someone bumped into it, you had to recalibrate it- so I was recalibrating it all the time! I am looking forward to learning some new ideas!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed a workshop I attended over the summer where we had the opportunity to use the responders. I would love to have those in my classroom! Way too expensive for now though!
ReplyDeleteI envy your accessibility to technology. We have projectors and elmo's in our classrooms, but that is it. We have to share these with other classrooms also. Our biggest problem is the lack of computers in the school. Right now we only have 1 computer lab for over 800 students. We are trying to find funding for a mobile lab and seem to making progress, but it is slow. I think it is great that you have this much technology, don't take it for granted!
ReplyDeleteGreat to know so much technology is out there for everyone!!!
